This was the first day of my new life with
mom. She visited me the week before and
said she was coming back to get me…and
she kept her word.
The day before, I went for a visit with the
doctor for my medical clearance to leave. I
knew something was up then. The next day,
when they geared me up and took me into
the lobby, I saw mom waiting on the floor for
me.
The first thing she did was give me a kiss.
That made me smile. There were so many
people in the lobby and they were watching
us. Then mom gave me a few treats. They
were yummy. Everyone was very happy for
me. I was happy for myself.
I looked at the door and mom understood it
was time to go, so we left. One of my human
friends that had been taking care of me
picked me up and put me in my car (Mom
says everything belongs to me). I got settled
and we left for home.
Mom said we were stopping at the beach on
the way home. What’s a beach? I soon found
out.
We walked a lot and got to see so many
things I hadn’t ever seen before. I saw
seagulls all over the place.
The water was so blue and it splashed me. I
didn’t like that too much!
We sat for a while and I watched the people
passing by very carefully. I needed to see
everything that was going on. I could go
anywhere and check out anything, but I stuck
close to mom.
After we rested, we headed home. I was a
little unsure in the car. I was moving without
walking and that was strange. But mom said
not to worry that we would soon be home.
And before I knew it, I could see the city.
We parked the car and walked to my new
home. From the first step inside, it felt like it
was all mine. Mom made me comfortable
and cooked dinner for me.
It was a big day for me. I’ve been through a
lot in my life but now it’s time to forget the
past and move on with my future with my
new mom!
It was a long journey, but I’m finally home…
